Jazz at the G
7:30 PM – 9:30 PM
Maxwell Theater, Summerville Campus
The GRU Jazz Ensemble is showcased at the next “Jazz At The G” concert, presented by The GRU Dept. of Music, and GPB-Augusta, the NPR Radio station on GRU’s Summerville Campus. The group will play straight ahead jazz, “Basie-style” swing, latin jazz, and jazz funk. The concert is Tuesday, November 10th, 7:30 PM at Maxwell Theatre. Admission is free with a valid JAGCard.

Registration for Spring 2016 will begin November 2. Students eligible to web register via POUNCE follow the start dates for their classification below.

Annual Guitar Pull
Tuesday, October 27

Kicks 99 hosts an Annual Guitar Pull with some of the hottest musicians in country music sharing one stage. Past acts include Luke Bryan, Darius Rucker, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, and many more.  So come out to the ticket stop and register to win tickets! You must be at least 16, and have a valid ID. You can only register once.

SafeHomes Survivor’s Walk
Thursday, October 29
6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
GRU Teardrop, Summerville Campus
This annual ceremony features testimonies from domestic violence survivors and a balloon release and candlelight walk. Open to the public. Wear purple to show your support. Sponsored by the GRu Division of Enrollment and Students Affairs and Ladybug’s Flower and Gifts.

Students, staff, and faculty are invited to nominate faculty members for a “Caught in the Act of Great Teaching Award.” We are looking to honor faculty for those acts, large or small that inspire students and exemplify teaching excellence. Nominations should be no more than 100 words and include the name of the instructor and a description of the nominating act. Send nominations to facultydevelopment@gru.edu.

H.I.T Hack Challenge
Would you like to participate in the H.I.T. Hack Challenge, the first annual hackathon for students to transform the future of health informatics? Come and be a part of a team of daring and innovative problem solvers and help come up with an idea that can change the Health Informatics landscape! The winning team will be invited to present at the Health IT Leadership Summit in Atlanta on November 3. Contact Dr. Gianluca De Leo at gdeleo@gru.edu before September 30.

Extended JSAC HOURS
The JSAC is open on Monday – Thursday from 7:00 AM – 12:00 AM; Friday from 7:00 AM-7:00 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM; and Sunday from 1:00 PM – 12:00 AM.
The game room is open on Monday – Thursday from 7:00 AM-11:30 PM; Friday from 7:00 AM-6:30 PM. It is closed on the weekends.
