Dissertation Fellowships
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi will award two Dissertation Fellowships of $10,000 each to active members who are doctoral candidates and are completing dissertations at a US regionally accredited, doctoral -granting institution of higher education. The Dissertation Fellowship is open to all active (dues current) Phi Kappa Phi members or those who have accepted membership by November 30, 2015.
Any candidates interested in applying, please contact Kevin Frazier (kfrazier@gru.edu) or Regina Messer (rmesser@gru.edu).
Applications and any supporting documents will be accepted from October 1 to 11:59 p.m. CT on November 30.

Free Math Tutoring
The Math Assistance Center (MAC) has something to offer every math student, whether you need a little help or a lot. Free math tutoring is available in Allgood Hall N304. For a full schedule of hours, please visit here.

Channeled Paths
The non-profit Channeled Paths is looking for volunteers for the Nightmare Plantation Halloween event. They need help setting up in the month of October, and actors on October 30 and 31. If interested, please call 706-860-3400 and give your name and number.

You must be at least 16, and have a valid ID. You can only register once.

Latino Americans Series: Jose Antonio Martinez: A Cuban Pioneer in Columbia County History Lecture

3rd Annual Shine a Light on Summerville Campus Ghosts

JSAC Patio, Summerville Campus
Get to know the friendly ghosts on the University Summerville Campus. This walking tour of the campus showcases the ghost’s stories and historical antecedents. The event starts with a “Jack O’Lantern” craft for younger walkers. The walk will start at 7:00 PM. Walkers will meet at the JSAC patio. Bring flashlights if you feel you need them.

Caught in the Act of Great Teaching!
Students, staff, and faculty members are invited to nominate faculty members for a “Caught in the Act of Great Teaching Award.” Let’s honor our faculty members for those acts, large or small, that inspire students and exemplify teaching excellence. Nominations should include the name of the instructor and a description (no more than 100 words) of the act that led to the nomination. Send nominations to facultydevelopment@gru.edu. Submissions will be accepted continuously throughout the fall semester, and an announcement of the winners will be made monthly.
