Arsenal – Undergraduate Research Journal
Arsenal – Undergraduate Research Journal of GRU is accepting submissions from Oct 21st – Jan15th.

Georgia regents University (Soon to be augusta University) Karate Club
The Augusta University Karate Club is looking for new members! We are training in the RyuTe style of traditional Okinawan karate (ryute.com) focusing on self defense, and anyone can join, from beginners to black belts. Training is led by Dr. Mitchell Watsky, 7th degree black belt with more the 35 years experience in the art. Contact Dr. Watsky at mwatsky@gru.edu for details!

Dissertation Fellowships
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi will award two Dissertation Fellowships of $10,000 each to active members who are doctoral candidates and are completing dissertations at a US regionally accredited, doctoral -granting institution of higher education. The Dissertation Fellowship is open to all active (dues current) Phi Kappa Phi members or those who have accepted membership by November 30, 2015.
Any candidates interested in applying, please contact Kevin Frazier (kfrazier@gru.edu) or Regina Messer (rmesser@gru.edu).
Applications and any supporting documents will be accepted from October 1 to 11:59 p.m. CT on November 30.

The Math Assistance Center (MAC) has something to offer every math student, whether you need a little help or a lot. Free math tutoring is available in Allgood Hall N304. For a full schedule of hours, please visit here.

Your time and experience can make a huge impact on someone’s life. Find out how to help Homestead’s patients and families who are living with terminal illness. You can help by providing:
Clerical Support (record keeping, clerical work)
Community Support (Serving meals, Fundraising, Participating in events)
Support for Families (Running errands, Breaks for caregivers, Emotional support)
Personal Touch (Reading books, Simple conversations, Walking, Listening)

Houses of Worship Safety and Security Summit

Maxwell Theatre, Summerville Campus
Senior officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S.Department of Justice, and local law enforcement will focus on ways to better protect and how to better provide for the safety and security of area houses of worship. The free event is sponsored by the Augusta University Department of Sociology, Criminal Justice, & Social Work and the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Georgia

Classical Music Concert Series “Wycliffe Gordon & Friends Holiday Concert”

The GRU (soon to be Augusta University) Music Dept. and WACG-FM/GPB-Augusta present “The Classical Music Concert Series Wycliffe Gordon & Friends Holiday Concert” on Tuesday December 1st, 7:30pm at Maxwell Theatre. Holiday favorites arranged in classical and jazz styles, performed by Artist-in-Residence Wycliffe Gordon, with the university orchestra, ensembles and choir. Students admitted free with valid JAG Card.

Join your Augusta University friends and community to celebrate the season! Enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, sing carols, and watch President Keel light our tree on the AU campus in celebration of the beginning of the holiday season. Weather permitting, “Elf” will be shown outside following the tree lighting – so bring a blanket and some friends.
