Noted comedic actor and personality Ben Stein will be the keynote speaker at Alumni Weekend, presented by HCCU, this year, and everyone is invited.
Stein will be sharing his unique perspective at Christenberry Fieldhouse from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, and tickets are $10 for alumni and students and $15 for non-alumni. The event is sponsored by HCCU, Cudos4u, and Phoenix Printing.
Visit the website at grualumni.com/signatureevent to purchase tickets. Tickets that are purchased can be picked up at the window before the event or at Alumni Weekend Registration in the Alumni Center at 919 15th Street Augusta, Ga., from 8 a.m.–6 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. on Saturday.
Stein’s career has ranged from being a speechwriter for President Richard Nixon, to an appearance in the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” that elevated him to near cult-icon status. And he is also a gifted economist who uses his unique way of looking at the world to provide entertaining and thought-provoking insight.
The Presidential Alumni Recognition ceremony will also kick off this event, where President Ricardo Azziz honors distinguished alumni.
But this is only part of Alumni Weekend, as there are over 40 other events occurring from Thursday, April 24, to Sunday, April 27.
In fact, every college has different events planned to greet and honor alumni, and it is a great time catch up with people you haven’t seen in years.
