Today marks the launch of the first phase of our Employee Engagement Survey, so it’s time to share your perspective and ideas about what Georgia Regents Health System can do to sustain a positive, productive, inclusive, and effective work environment. All employees of Georgia Regents Medical Center, Georgia Regents Medical Associates, and selected Shared Services (Advancement, Compliance, Facilities, IT, HR, OCM, and Supply Chain) are encouraged to take part and contribute their views. The survey will close on Nov. 17.
This survey provides employees with the opportunity to give feedback on the work environment, management, leadership, and organization effectiveness. It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete, and employees are able to complete it during their shift or normal working hours.
Much has happened, and some of our priorities have changed since the last employee survey was conducted in the medical center in 2001. This survey is being conducted by a national firm specializing in employee surveys that will allow us to compare our results with a national broader database of respondents.
The survey process is managed by an outside vendor to ensure that submissions are completely confidential. Your identity and responses will not be shared with anyone at the university or health system. The survey results will be analyzed by Press Ganey, a consulting firm specializing in employee opinion surveys.
Passwords will be used to access the online survey. Passwords are your full last name + last 5 digits of your Social Security number. This approach simplifies the login process, makes it easier to quickly log in, prevents multiple submissions, and increases accuracy and data integrity because it ensures respondents are directed to the correct work unit.

How Will the Responses Make a Difference?
In early 2014, we will be reviewing engagement survey results with each of the work unit managers to examine issues relative to our business challenges and strategic priorities. We will encourage all units to use their survey results to help drive performance, foster cross-departmental teamwork, and enhance our overall work environment. Your input in this survey will go a long way toward helping the university and health system in our efforts at continuous improvement.
Incentives for Participation
Our goal is a 90 percent participation rate. There will be random drawings conducted by Press Ganey throughout the survey administration period. All employees who complete the survey are eligible for prizes including gift cards, logo wear, Terrace Dining vouchers, and movie passes. Complete your survey early in order to be eligible to win a prize drawing on more days. Two prizes will be awarded daily throughout the survey period.
Departments that reach 100 percent participation by Nov. 11 will get a pizza party, and departments that reach 100 percent participation by Nov. 17 will get a special snack treat.
Survey Champions are advocates and champions of the survey who are available to answer your questions. Look for them wearing an “ASK ME!” button. They are available to answer your questions about the survey process and discuss any concerns. You can find their names on the survey website link. They are also available to discuss the survey at team meetings.
