It’s a classic tale of bad-boy-with-a-past meets innocent-red-haired-colleen whose family objects to the match. Admission will be by donation, and all donations will go to fund scholarships and costs of the 2016 Ireland Study Abroad trip.

Impacting the World: The Fulbright Experience

The Fulbright Scholar Program is a program of the United States Department of State Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs. The Program sponsors U.S. and foreign participants for exchanges in all areas of endeavor, including the sciences, business, public service, government, and the arts and continues to increase mutual understanding between the people of the U. S. and the people of other countries.

Latino Americans Series: “War and Peace.”

University Hall 170, Summerville Campus
The next event in the Latino Americans series, “War and Peace,” will focus on the history of Hispanic/Latino service members. The program will begin with a screening of the “War and Peace” episode from the documentary series Latino Americans. Following the film, Dr. Heather Abdelnur will lead a panel discussion of Hispanic/Latino veterans.

Jazz at the G

Maxwell Theater, Summerville Campus
The GRU Jazz Ensemble is showcased at the next “Jazz At The G” concert, presented by The GRU Dept. of Music, and GPB-Augusta, the NPR Radio station on GRU’s Summerville Campus. The group will play straight ahead jazz, “Basie-style” swing, Latin jazz, and jazz funk. The concert is Tuesday, November 10th, 7:30 PM at Maxwell Theatre. Admission is free with a valid JAGCard.

Lecture: Pursue the Amazing World of International Opportunities

Dr. Fell will discuss examples that will help you think about how you can get involved, including international service trips with professionals, involvement in international professional associations, lecturing in other countries, leading interprofessional service teams with students to other countries, research and scholarly collaborations, developing educational programs in other countries, and a sabbatical year teaching in a different country.

Join us for a “Lunch & Learn” as we dig through your past (or future) study abroad experience to help you decipher what a future employer would like to know. We will discuss what you learned from your experience abroad, how to present your trip on a resume, and how to translate those experiences into meaningful conversations that you can use in a future job or graduate school interview.
