Food and Nutrition Services is rolling out its version of “curbside” service at Georgia Regents Medical Center’s Terrace Dining on Dec. 2.
Beginning that day, faculty, staff and students will be able to order lunch and pay for it online through Sodexo’s Catertrax website. Sodexo has been Georgia Regents University’s food service partner for the Medical Center and University campuses since 2013.
Customers will log on to https://gru.catertrax.com, click on the Desktop Ordering icon, select a meal from the full Terrace Dining menu, select a pick up time and pay by credit card. Their order will then be ready for pick-up by the designated time at the sushi station in Terrace Dining to be enjoyed in the café’s dining room or elsewhere.
Food and Nutrition Services Retail/Catering Manager Anderson Norrell said desktop ordering will be convenient for those who don’t want to spend 15 minutes of their 30-minute lunch break standing in line. Terrace Dining can get quite busy, he said, with long lines at the serving counters and at the cash registers.
Desktop ordering allows customers to bypass the lunch lines by ordering and paying ahead.
“We’re hoping in the future, based on our return of investment, to expand into delivery services,” said Food and Nutrition Services Director Lavone Cook.
Desktop ordering will be available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
